How might we get collective into marriage, couple into wedding and that relationship to last?
a space, a ritual, a tradition
The ARK is a pavillion where people can reflect on marriage, get married in the structure and nurture their marriage.
Ark acts as a recreational space for people where they can reflect on their own thoughts about getting married or about their marriage. Ark is neutral, free from any kind of judgment, religious statements or preconception.
Each couple can make their wedding in the way they prefer but we also have designed a ritual, a user journey how the structure should be used. Wedding ceremony starts with the couple entering the structure together, but departing for a short time to go through a labyrinth to contemplate about the big decision. They meet again before the totem surrounded by their loved ones. On the totem they sign their love vows to the ribbon and move on top of the roof through the ramp that symbolises their first journey they take together. On the rooftop they place the ribbon into the structure to join other couples. After the wedding the couple can visit their ribbon and renew love vows and reflect on their relationship.
